Over the past several years, we have proudly established an Education Sponsorships Program designed to empower promising high school graduates by providing them with opportunities to further their education. Since our initiative began, we have successfully sponsored eight deserving students to pursue a variety of tertiary education programs in Kenya. These programs range from vocational
skills colleges to undergraduate and master’s level courses. Our beneficiaries often come from challenging socio-economic backgrounds and, tragically, many have lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDS.
Remarkably, all of these students are trailblazers in their families, being the first to embark on the journey of higher education. We walk with them from elementary school age to higher education.
Our comprehensive sponsorship package is designed to support our students holistically. It includes financial assistance that covers all costs associated with applying to various educational programs. We provide personalized guidance throughout the application process, offering mentorship and support akin to that of a guardian, particularly when navigating the complexities of academic institutions. Additionally, our sponsorship includes a monthly stipend to cover living expenses, as well as transportation allowances to facilitate travel to and from school. This also extends to supporting families by providing transportation for parents to attend graduation ceremonies, creating memorable moments that celebrate our students’ achievements.
Beyond merely facilitating enrollment in elementary and high school, college, or university, we are committed to helping our students gain valuable work and volunteering experiences within their communities. We understand that practical experience is a vital part of education, and we strive to connect our beneficiaries with opportunities that enrich their learning and enhance their employability.
Moreover, we recognize the importance of a stable home environment in promoting academic success. To this end, we actively engage with the families of our students, providing support and resources to help ensure that their home lives are conducive to learning and growth. Our commitment to these young individuals extends beyond their academic journeys, as we also offer career assistance after graduation, including help with resume building and connecting them with job opportunities. Through our Education Sponsorships Program, we aim to create a lasting impact on the lives of these students, helping them to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential.
